There’s a lot of noise out there about “mindset.”
Instagram quotes. YouTube shorts. Motivation videos telling you to wake up at 4 AM and grind until your eyes bleed.
Most of it doesn’t stick because it’s not built on experience. It’s surface-level.
This site — FBGM Life — isn’t about surface-level anything.
I spent over two decades in the Army, more than half of that in Special Operations. Constantly deployed. Living on the edge of routine and chaos. And I can tell you from experience:
Growth mindset isn’t a motivational quote. It’s a weapon.
Stuck Is a Symptom — Not a Sentence
Most people don’t stay stuck because they’re lazy. They stay stuck because they never learned how to operate outside of what they were told to do.
School didn’t teach it. Most jobs kill it. Comfort slowly erodes it.
The good news? A real growth mindset isn’t something you’re born with — it’s something you train like a muscle. And it works whether you’re:
- Transitioning out of the military
- Starting your first business
- Trying to escape a 9–5 you can’t stand
The Growth Mindset I Learned in Special Operations
When you’re deployed constantly, there’s no “perfect condition” to wait for. You execute. You adapt. You make it work or you don’t come back.
That mindset — applied to business and personal growth — is what keeps me moving forward now.
Here’s what it really looks like:
- Failing forward: You try something, it breaks, you adjust.
- Aggressive humility: You don’t act like you know everything — but you act like you’re capable of learning anything.
- Ownership: No one is coming to save you. You are the rescue plan.
How I Apply It Now — Post-Military
FBGM Life is my blueprint. It’s how I build a life of Freedom, Business, Growth, and Mindset — not just for show, but as a new mission.
This is what growth mindset looks like today:
- Reading and writing daily
- Learning new tools and tech without needing permission
- Treating failure like feedback, not shame
- Building income from scratch instead of relying on a paycheck
You don’t need to have a military background to do this. But you do need to adopt the same code:
- Execute
- Learn
- Adapt
- Move
Real Growth Starts with a Hard Look in the Mirror
If you’re reading this, you’re likely stuck in some way:
- Wanting to start a project but doubting your skills
- Knowing you should change jobs but scared of the drop
- Talking about freedom but not taking action to earn it
You’re not alone. But you have to move.
Growth doesn’t come from planning — it comes from doing, then adjusting.
The Mission Now
I’m here to show the reality of building something from zero.
Not with fake Lambos or screenshots. But with real lessons, earned discipline, and practical tools. Some weeks I’ll win. Others I’ll take the hit. But I’ll keep going — and if you’re reading this, I hope you do too.
